Mechanical Engineer. This dynamic role bridges the gap between office-based product development and on-site field execution. You will lead the engineering, 3D modeling, repair design, modification, and technical servicing of heavy industrial material handling systems and advanced lifting equipment.
Responsibilities - Develop, modify, and optimize designs for heavy industrial machinery, material handling systems, and specialized lifting equipment.
- Create highly accurate 2D layouts and complex 3D models using advanced CAD platforms, applying finite element analysis (FEA) for structural stress calculations.
- Design and select critical mechanical components, including gearboxes, high-torque drive trains, and complex structural weldments.
- Travel occasionally to domestic customer sites to perform equipment evaluations, diagnose field issues, and establish accurate project technical scopes.
- Apply meticulous machine tolerances, fits, and finishes to final assembly drawings. Ensure all engineering drafts conform to strict manufacturing standards.
- Interface professionally with both internal engineering teams and external customer stakeholders to ensure projects are executed on time and to specification.
Requirements - Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering ($BSME$).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in heavy industry, machinery design, material handling systems, or industrial cranes. Past field experience in industrial or agricultural settings is highly desirable.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred, though not strictly required.
- Proven expertise in modern CAD software (SolidWorks, CREO, or AutoCAD), combined with standard Microsoft Office literacy.
- Solid understanding of FEA software, engineering analysis, welding design, and advanced drafting/detailing best practices.
- Working knowledge of industrial regulatory standards, including CMAA, ASME, AWS, AIST, NEC, and OSHA compliance.
- Mobility and physical stamina to stand for extended periods during shop floor or field inspections; flexibility to travel to customer installations as needed.
