Mechanical Engineer - Sericeability

Our client, a leading innovator in the transportation and technology industry, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Serviceability Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Serviceability

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $72/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

• Drive the Design for Serviceability (DFS) by evaluating form, fit, function, and access of products.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Design, and Prototyping teams to optimize serviceability and maintainability.
• Assess product designs from concept through manufacturing for ergonomics, tooling clearance, and replacement feasibility.
• Develop and maintain service part release strategies and the Service BOM for spare parts planning.
• Identify tooling needs, guide design ideation, and work with specialized tooling teams to develop solutions.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 4-6 years of engineering experience within product design and manufacturing environments
• Proven experience designing and developing products through their lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes, including product and process validation
• Experience with tooling and equipment design, along with solid documentation skills
