Mechanical Engineer - R&D New Product Development

An employer is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work in the new product development group at a fast paced R&D organization. This will be a hybrid role based in Southbury, CT.
This role is critical in driving the design, development, and validation of cutting-edge mechanical systems and components for next-generation products. The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering fundamentals, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation.
This person will debrief with the design and sales teams after meeting with a client, start working on initial concept generation, work in SolidWorks to create parts and individual components, do either machining or printing, then send back out for 2nd round of designing or testing.

Skills and Requirements
3-5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience (flexible)
CAD design work with SolidWorks
Design experience of machined, injection molded, sheetmetal parts
Hands-on, shop & testing experience CFD (computational fluid dynamics) experience with SimScale preferred
Experience working in an R&D organization
Experience creating seals and o-rings
Tolerancing experience null
