Established multi-disciplined consulting firm is looking to add a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to their Milwaukee, Wisconsin team!
Responsibilities:
Primary engineering contact for architectural K-12 and public-sector projects
Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into building designs
Coordinate with utilities, permitting agencies, and code authorities to secure timely approvals
Participate in public and board meetings as needed for school and municipal projects
Mentor/train junior staff
Lead mechanical system design for a variety of building types (HVAC systems, ventilation and energy recovery systems, building automation and controls integration)
Design of domestic water, sanitary, and storm plumbing systems
Conduct load calculations, equipment sizing, pressure loss analysis, and energy modeling
Develop detailed construction drawings and specifications using Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools
Stamp and certify mechanical construction documents in support of permit submittals and construction
Review designs, respond to RFIs, and support construction-phase services
Provide accurate cost estimates and support scope development for new projects/proposals
Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
8+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design
PE License
Experience with K-12 and/or municipal building projects preferred
LEED AP, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or related credentials preferred
Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IECC, IBC, ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, and plumbing codes)
Proficient with Revit, Bluebeam, and mechanical system modeling/selections tools
