The Mechanical Engineer supports Standard Nuclear’s Idaho facility by developing and implementing equipment, facility, and process improvement projects that improve reliability, safety, throughput, and operational performance. This role provides hands-on engineering support for manufacturing, maintenance, and facility operations, including troubleshooting higher-level mechanical issues and supporting equipment upgrades, modifications, and repairs.
This is a practical, site-based engineering role for someone who is comfortable working across both technical design and field execution. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with operations, maintenance, facilities, and engineering teams to identify problems, develop solutions, and help implement improvements in a manufacturing environment. The role requires strong mechanical judgment, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to support the broader site team when operational needs arise.

This role is based on-site at Standard Nuclear’s Idaho facility and involves work in office, manufacturing, facility, and industrial environments.
The position requires regular interaction with operations, maintenance, facilities, and engineering teams. Work may involve hands-on support of equipment, utilities, and facility systems, including time on the production floor. Physical activity, use of PPE, and adherence to safety procedures such as lockout/tagout may be required.
