Position Overview
Our client is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer II to join our International Aircraft Integration (IAI) team. In this role, you will research, design, develop, and test cutting-edge products ranging from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft. You will be responsible for conceptualizing complex mechanical structures and delivering innovative solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities- Design & Development: Conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures, systems, and processes.
- Lifecycle Management: Support products from initial research and design through testing, certification, and deployment.
- Collaboration: Work within multi-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger aerospace platforms.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve existing products and engineering services.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:- Education: Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Typically 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools; CATIA V5/V6 is highly preferred.
- Engineering Core: Strong practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Security: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills:- Experience within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Familiarity with Commercial Derivative Aircraft.
- Expertise in applying and interpreting GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
- Understanding of Engineering Simulations, including FEA, CFD, and Thermal Analysis.
- Knowledge of industry-standard design principles: parametric design, model-based definition, hardware selection, and manufacturing processes.
Work Environment & Physical Demands- Physical: Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing of stairs. Requires manual dexterity for repetitive hand/arm motions. Ability to rarely lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
- Conditions: Primarily an indoor office/lab environment with rare exposure to outdoor elements, loud noises, or hazardous materials.
