The Opportunity
Join a specialized International Aircraft Integration (IAI) team to research, design, and certify cutting-edge aerospace products. From advanced mission payloads to highly integrated aircraft systems, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing complex mechanical structures throughout the entire product lifecycle. This is a high-impact role supporting direct approved IR&D projects in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems using advanced CAD tools.
- Technical Integration: Apply engineering principles to develop new products and processes from initial design through testing and deployment.
- Collaboration: Work closely within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electronic systems and mission payloads.
- Documentation: Utilize Model-Based Definition and parametric design to ensure accuracy in manufacturing and production.
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Typically 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Software Proficiency: Practical experience with Computer-Aided Engineering tools, specifically CATIA V5 or V6.
- Security: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance is required.
- Core Knowledge: Strong grasp of engineering principles, practices, and multi-disciplinary design workflows.
- Industry Background: Experience within the Aerospace and Defense industry, specifically with Commercial Derivative Aircraft.
- Technical Standards: Familiarity with interpreting and applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
- Simulation: Understanding of Engineering Simulation including FEA, CFD, and Thermal Analysis.
- Manufacturing: Knowledge of material hardware selection, manufacturing processes, and production workflows.
- Physical: Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing of stairs. Requires fine motor dexterity for repetitive hand/arm motions.
- Lifting: Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.
- Environment: Primarily indoor office/lab setting; rarely exposed to loud noise, fumes, or outdoor elements.
