Description

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the engineering duties required to maintain, grow, and improve a portfolio of lighting products and services. The position is expected to support technology generational updates across product families while interfacing with various departments including manufacturing, product management, quality, suppliers, and other engineering departments.

This is an onsite position located at our Greenville, SC HQ.

Primary Role:

  • Perform projects to update and expand existing product designs through implementation of technology updates to the electrical and mechanical subsystems.
  • Coordinate performance and certification testing, complete prototype builds, and interface with internal/external parties to support execution of the projects mentioned above.
  • Execute projects to increase profitability and/or revenue of existing products such as product-cost reductions and product expansions.
  • Create PCB Designs for lighting systems to comply with performance and efficacy requirements

Secondary Roles:

  • Support other engineers in executing on larger cross-functional projects such as late-point configuration of products in our manufacturing facilities.
  • Provide technical assistance to Projects/Customer/Warranty/Quality/Technical Service requests.
  • Complete drawings, design files, and 3D models to support updates to product portfolio or plant requests.
  • Execute project-related tasks following the New Product Development (NPD) process

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel
  • 2+ years of related experience is preferred, and/or experience in lighting and lighting systems
  • 2D and 3D CAD experience is preferred
  • SAP ERP system experience is preferred
  • Altium/PCB Layout software experience preferred
  • Excellent communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written

Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $60,000+.
