Mechanical Electrical Assembly Supervisor

Position Summary:
The Supervisor – Manufacturing Operations is responsible for leading daily production activities within a fast-paced OEM manufacturing environment. This role directly supervises Build Leads and hourly manufacturing employees while driving accountability, productivity, quality, safety, and schedule execution across assigned departments.
This position is highly floor-focused and requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage employee performance, enforce policies and expectations, resolve operational issues quickly, and maintain control of daily manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who thrives in a structured production environment and can balance workforce management with operational execution.
Job Duties:
- Lead daily manufacturing operations across assigned production areas to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and schedule attainment.
- Supervise, coach, and develop Build Leads and hourly employees while maintaining high performance expectations and accountability standards.
- Monitor labor utilization, staffing levels, workflow, and production priorities to maximize operational efficiency.
- Enforce company policies, attendance standards, safety procedures, housekeeping expectations, and workplace conduct consistently.
- Address employee performance concerns promptly through coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary processes when necessary.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Project Management, and other departments to resolve manufacturing issues and production constraints.
- Track job progress, labor hours, and production performance against schedules and estimated budgets.
- Identify and escalate material shortages, quality concerns, engineering issues, and schedule risks that may impact production or customer commitments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, organization, labor efficiency, and operational performance.
- Maintain a strong floor presence throughout the shift to support employees, monitor operations, and ensure production goals are achieved safely and efficiently.
What you need to be successful:
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience managing employee performance, accountability, attendance, and workplace expectations
- Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production environment
- Experience coordinating production schedules, labor utilization, and manufacturing priorities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining professionalism and consistency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing or ERP systems
- Ability to work extended hours or flexible schedules as needed to support production demands
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within OEM, heavy industrial, or custom manufacturing environments
- Experience supervising large hourly manufacturing teams
- Familiarity with job costing, labor tracking, and schedule adherence metrics
- Experience partnering with HR and EHS on employee relations and workplace investigations
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and production schedules
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
