Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks assigned by Mechanical Engineers, Senior Engineers, and the Engineering Manager/Director.

  • Assist in producing detailed schematics for HVAC systems based on instructions and pre-established guidelines.

  • Assist Mechanical Engineers by participating in job site surveys to gather as-built technical information.

  • Draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems based on direction from Mechanical Engineers.

  • Convert field surveys into usable formats for plan and project development. Use AutoCAD to develop plans.

  • Participate in the company's project improvement process by maintaining/improving CAD Detail Library and CAD Standards.

  • Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope, and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering required or 2 years of CAD Drafting experience with formal AutoCAD/REVIT Drafting training/certification enrollment or completion.

  • Must make autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements.

  • Develop a working knowledge of Permitting submittal requirements in the Mechanical field.

  • Computer-savvy, willing and able to understand and learn new software programs. Developing proficiency of AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Increasing awareness of HVAC Systems and Components (Hot Water, Chilled Water, Condensing Water, Chillers, Fans, Heat Pumps, etc.)
