Mechanical Disassembler/Assembler Technician (1st & 2nd Shift)

Pay: $22.00–$24.00 per hour (based on experience)

2nd Shift Differential: Additional 10%

Location: Newark, Delaware

Schedule: Full-Time

Available Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. (10% Shift Differential)

Position Summary

DuHadaway Tool & Die Shop, Inc.is seeking skilled Mechanical Disassembler/Assembler Technicians to join our Industrial Turbine Component Repair Division in Newark, Delaware. This position is responsible for disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and preparing industrial turbine components for repair and refurbishment. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with their hands in a precision manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and prepare industrial turbine components for repair and refurbishment.

  • Perform ultrasonic cleaning, rinsing, sandblasting, and other cleaning processes according to work instructions.

  • Assemble mechanical components after repair while ensuring proper fit, function, and quality.

  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and overhead cranes.

  • Inspect components using precision measuring equipment, including:- Micrometers

    • Dial calipers
    • Height gages
    • Thread gages
  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Accurately record inspection results and complete required production documentation.

  • Identify damaged or worn components and communicate findings to supervisors or quality personnel.

  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, engineering, and other departments to meet production schedules.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in automotive repair, mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or a related mechanical field preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and reassemble mechanical components.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to accurately measure and inspect components using micrometers, calipers, height gages, and thread gages.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

  • Successfully pass a pre-employment physical, lift assessment, and drug screening.
  • Ability to lift materials and perform the physical demands of the position safely.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely work around industrial equipment, overhead cranes, and manufacturing machinery.

Compensation & Benefits

DuHadaway Tool & Die Shop offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
