Job Description:
Senior-level Mechanical Designer responsible for delivering 3D piping and equipment design solutions for power generation projects, including retrofit, environmental, and new build assignments. The role involves producing detailed engineering deliverables such as 2D drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, pipe supports, and 3D models while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The designer will collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams, support field data collection, and contribute to construction and design review activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop 3D piping and equipment layouts for industrial/power generation projects
Produce 2D orthographic drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and pipe support designs
Perform material take-offs and assist in component sizing and selection
Gather and validate field data for design accuracy
Review and develop general arrangement drawings
Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering teams and plant stakeholders
Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and project requirements
Provide construction and design support as needed
Work on multiple concurrent large-scale projects efficiently

Skills & Education Required:

20+ years of mechanical/piping design experience
Strong background in power generation or heavy industrial facility design
Proficiency in 3D modeling tools for piping design
Experience with AutoPLANT and/or AVEVA preferred
Expertise in piping systems, materials, valves, and construction practices
Experience producing and reviewing engineering drawings and deliverables
Strong knowledge of retrofit and new construction environments
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience supporting construction and vendor coordination
