Mechanical Designer (CAD / Drafter)

Location: Louisville, KY (Onsite)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer / Drafter to join a growing engineering team supporting custom industrial equipment projects. This role will work closely with project engineers to develop customer approval drawings and transition those into detailed fabrication-ready designs.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys designing from scratch, working in a highly collaborative environment, and seeing projects move from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create custom mechanical designs using Autodesk Inventor
  • Develop customer approval drawings for review and sign-off
  • Produce detailed fabrication and shop drawings for manufacturing
  • Collaborate with project engineers and internal teams throughout the design process
  • Perform basic calculations and ensure accuracy of designs
  • Continuously learn and apply company standards and product knowledge

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor (required)
  • Background in mechanical design and drafting within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to create approval drawings and fabrication drawings
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Solid math skills (geometry, trigonometry, algebra)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Experience using Excel or spreadsheet tools
  • Ability to quickly learn new products and components

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
