Mechanical Designer Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide mechanical design and development of new products or product enhancements for the automotive service tools industry. Must be able to perform in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines and nationalities.
• Prepare thorough and accurate documentation for release to manufacturing and for internal product design records.
• Test and validate products to assure product performance and quality.
• Work with manufacturing and service personnel to resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products.
• Develop or modify manufacturing processes.
• Work with other groups on value engineering initiatives to reduce product cost and or improve performance of designs.
• Develop and understanding of the company’s products and their applications.
• Provide administrative support for Engineering Computer systems.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Design Engineering environment.
• Hands on experience in automotive maintenance and repair is preferred.
• Must be proficient in the use of the computer for design. Autodesk Inventor CAD experience is preferred.
• Up to date knowledge in mechanical design
• Basic understanding of complementary technical disciplines, particularly electronics
• Able to work with others and with minimal supervision.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must possess good time management and organizational skills.
• Must possess good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Must be able to demonstrate initiative.
• Prefer to have practical experience in manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Project management and customer interface experience is a plus.
