A Sr. Mechanical Designer/Drafter opportunity is open with our client in San Carlos, CA. In this role you will be responsible for the design of complex components and packaging involving mechanical mechanisms and electro-mechanical assemblies. To be considered for this role you will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years of demonstrated mechanical design engineering experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Design of complex components and packaging involving mechanical mechanisms and electro-mechanical assemblies.
● Initial layout and sizing
● Detailed design and fabrication specifications
● Preparing production drawings, with appropriate GD & T
● Direct communication with vendors and technicians in manufacturing
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● B.S in Mechanical Engineering
● 5+ years of demonstrated mechanical design engineering experience, preferably 'full-stack' with exposure to first principal driven design, equipment/component selection, hands-on builds, bring-up and troubleshooting, test design
● Experience with powertrain/ motor design in CATIA V6.
● Excellent problem solving and communication skills
● Strong analytical background
● Recent Catia 3D experience required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● M.S. in Mechanical Engineering
● Related Aviation or Automotive industry experience
● Experience with instrumentation selection/procurement and data acquisition
● Electrical enclosure design experience
