Position: Mechanical Designer (Creo)

Location: Raleigh, NC

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks,Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM's globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer (Creo) to join our team. The position will be located in Raleigh, NC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work closely with product development engineers across business units to create and maintain high speed connector product CAD models as per their input and feedback
  • Employ best modeling practices and advanced feature techniques to capture design intent, and to facilitate design changes and data reuse (expanding design concepts into product families and derivatives)
  • Create and maintain internal and customer CAD geometries of components and assemblies for use in production and prototyping
  • Act as point of contact for control and distribution of CAD geometries across business units.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering, CAD, or a related field
  • 2+ years parametric experience preferred, proficiency in Creo Parametric a plus
  • High level of parametric modeling and assembly design skills, specifically:
    • Advanced part and assembly features
    • Reference geometry and shared data
    • Feature patterns and copies
    • Top-down design techniques
    • Family table driven designs
    • Detailing, dimensional and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Familiarity with industry standard drafting and detailing practices (ANSI, ASME)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies (stamping, molding, plating) a plus
  • Knowledge of Windchill PDMLink 11 or 12 a plus
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 operating system and standard MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, thoroughness in work, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
