Mechanical Design Engineer – Direct Hire in York
Offered Salary $80,000
Full time position 8:00am – 5:00pm

Manpower is partnering with a leading manufacturing company to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with experience designing custom machinery and working in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create conceptual designs, detailed drawings, and assembly layouts for conveyors and bakery/food processing equipment
- Develop fabrication-ready drawings in accordance with company standards
- Produce detailed layouts to ensure proper tolerances and clearances
- Participate in and contribute to design reviews
- Manage project timelines by tracking progress, coordinating tasks, and resolving issues
- Apply strong technical knowledge to troubleshoot and solve design challenges
- Independently complete assignments within established timelines
- Identify required materials and generate purchase requisitions
- Perform engineering calculations, including motor sizing and structural integrity
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Mechanical preferred but not required
- 3–5 years of design experience in a manufacturing or machinery environment
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Experience- Equipment design
- Custom machinery manufacturing
- Sanitary design principles
- Conveyor systems and sheet metal design
