Job Description

The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, analysis, and documentation of HVAC and mechanical building systems for complex healthcare, science and technology, infrastructure, and commercial projects. This role requires advanced mechanical engineering expertise to develop innovative and code-compliant solutions that align with project objectives and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analyses and calculations.
• Prepare system designs and construction documents.
• Select equipment and develop specifications.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, HCAI requirements, industry standards, and company quality standards.
• Provide technical oversight through the review of engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Ensure accuracy, quality, and successful project delivery.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and engineers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence across the Mechanical discipline.

Essential Skills

• Advanced knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building systems design.
• Strong understanding of applicable building codes, industry standards, and integrated building design.
• Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Bluebeam.
• Experience overseeing design quality, coordination, and technical deliverables.
• Working knowledge of HCAI requirements, codes, review processes, and construction administration.
• Familiarity with sustainable, resilient, and high-performance building design principles.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $96.00/hr.
