As a member of the Mechanical Design Team you will be a driving force of innovation and helping build the future of electric vehicle charging.What You Will Bring to ChargePointAs a Mechanical Design Intern, your responsibilities will include the full range of the product design process:Design of prototype parts, test fixturesDesign of experiments and engineering validation testingDocumenting test results in reports and presenting findings to the broader organizationPrototype assemblyCreation of engineering documentation in the form of drawings and bills of materialRoot cause and failure analysisRequirementsActively enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field (Aero, Mechatronics and Thermal concentrations considered)3rd year student or beyond with at least 2 prior internshipsPrior ExperienceAs an intern, lab assistant, teaching assistant, etcInvolvement at a deep level in a relevant student design project like SAE Formula-E, Solar Car or Solar DecathlonAt least 1 year experience with Siemens NX CAD in prior internshipExperience with shop toolsExcellent, professional communication skillsKnowledge of heat transferKnowledge of basic electrical circuitsAbility to perform basic stress/strain analysisAvailability to commit to a full-time internship in a fast-paced professional environmentLocal applicants preferred as relocation assistance is not offeredChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $25 to $30.
