Mechanical Design Engineer - #26-18295

Duration: 12 months contract

Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Autodesk Inventor to support the design and development of complex mechanical systems and assemblies.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive experience creating detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and production documentation while working closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
• This role requires expertise in mechanical design principles, material selection, manufacturability, and product lifecycle support from concept through production release.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex mechanical assemblies and detailed component drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Create and revise 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Design electrical enclosures, system enclosures, vacuum system components, gas delivery systems, and pneumatic assemblies.
• Select appropriate materials and mechanical components to optimize cost, performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and prepare technical presentations for engineering teams.
• Support prototype builds by identifying and procuring prototype components.
• Perform prototype assembly, system integration, troubleshooting, and functional testing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to transfer designs into production and support production releases.
• Create and maintain assembly instructions, installation guides, test procedures, and service documentation.
• Manage engineering documentation using Autodesk Vault and PLM systems.

Experience:

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Extensive experience using Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling and detailed mechanical design.
• Strong experience creating manufacturing drawings and mechanical assemblies.
• Experience designing:
  • Electrical enclosures
  • Vacuum systems
  • Gas delivery systems
  • Pneumatic assemblies
• Strong understanding of:
  • Mechanical design principles
  • Material selection
  • Component specification
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
• Experience supporting prototype development and engineering validation.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T.

Skillsets:

• Autodesk Vault
• Enovia PLM
• Creating technical manuals, installation guides, and service documentation

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
