Mechanical Commissioning Specialist

Oxford Solutions is working with a client seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Specialist.

Project site located in the Western New York region. This is a travel-based contract role supporting a data center environment, and candidates do not need to be local as long as they are comfortable with frequent onsite travel.

The Mechanical Commissioning Specialist will work independently on assigned scopes while collaborating with a project team to support successful commissioning execution. 

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical commissioning activities in the field for assigned project scopes
• Support testing, inspection, startup, and validation of mechanical systems and related equipment
• Identify, document, and communicate deficiencies, field issues, and commissioning progress
• Provide daily updates to the Mechanical Lead regarding assigned work and open items
• Review project documentation, checklists, and commissioning records for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during commissioning activities
• Follow all site safety requirements, procedures, and work practices
• Work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, vendors, and other technical personnel
• Support owner acceptance activities and critical testing milestones as needed
• Maintain organized documentation related to commissioning execution, deficiencies, and closeout items

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another technical field preferred
• Vocational/trade certification or equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered
• Valid driver’s license required
• 6+ years of relevant technical experience (commissioning, field operations, maintenance, mechanical systems, etc.)
• Direct commissioning experience preferred 
• Military technical backgrounds preferred
