Position SummaryThe Mechanical Assembly Lead is responsible for the mechanical assembly of dry ice production and blasting equipment and accessories.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform complex and advanced sub-assembly and final assembly of products according to engineering drawingsProvides backup leadership to the Production Supervisor by assisting with oversight of daily production activities to maintain workflow and operational efficiencyPull parts from the kanban system and follow inventory control proceduresWork with assembly sketches or other input documents of similar complexityBuild machine sub-assemblies to specifications within established build timesComplete final assembly on machines to specifications within established build timesShakedown machine to verify that the machine operates within parametersTroubleshoot any machine that does not pass shakedownPerform final checks and adjustments for any defects to ensure high-quality productsProvide feedback to the design engineering team regarding design or drawing suggestionsConduct product testing and performance testing and record the resultsMaintain work area clean, safe, and orderlyPerform all work in a safe manner, consistent with safety policiesCross-train in all areas of assembly
Position Requirements:Education & Experience:
HS Diploma or GED required. Vocational school, trade school, or formal on-the-job apprenticeship training preferred.2-3 Years of prior machine building experience, small engine repair, or automotive experience required.
Skill Competencies:
Ability to lead and cross train team membersSolid mechanical aptitude.Good dexterity and facility in the use of a variety of hand tools.Proficient at reading assembly drawings.Troubleshoots, problem solves well.Proficient computer skills for occasional operational tasksAvailable and willing to work overtime when needed.
