Maintenance MechanicMandarin Oriental New York is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our Engineering team.About the JobBased at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the Engineering Department, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of equipment designated under the Management of Mandarin Oriental New York, including day‑to‑day hotel operational and maintenance requirements.ResponsibilitiesProvide operation and maintenance support to the Assistant Chief Engineer.Execute Standard Operating Procedures developed by the Engineering Department.Execute policies and procedures for engineering practice.Execute preventive maintenance programs.Conduct day‑to‑day operation of Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing and HVAC systems.Conduct inventory of materials and spare parts used in maintenance.Work closely with departments such as Housekeeping, F&B, Front Office to resolve operational issues.Participate in fire drills and testing of Fire, Life, Health and Safety systems.Participate in departmental meetings, seminars, and training.Maintain equipment and systems to optimum function.Perform preventive maintenance and provide input for long‑term planning and enhancement of the hotel.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.2–5 years of experience with basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing equipment and systems.2–5 years of experience in an engineering environment.Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts (AM, PM, and Overnight).Basic knowledge of building systems.Basic knowledge of painting and finishing work.Background in luxury hotel or residential settings.Background working with Fire, Life, Health and Safety systems.Background working with BMS (Building Management Systems).Basic knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft DOS, Office, Windows.Good written and verbal communication skills.BenefitsPay $33.74 to $44.99 hourly, commensurate with experience.Competitive benefits package, including health and wellness programs.Retirement plans based on length of service and role.Travel and accommodation benefits for employees and loved ones.It is Company policy to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, including by providing reasonable accommodations that do not constitute an undue hardship on the Company.
