Posting Name Mechanic   Location ACTIVE APPLICANT     Job Category Uncertified Application   Schedule 235 Days   Salary 15.50 - 26.75   Licensed Position No   Full Time Yes   Description   TITLE                                 Maintenance Employee -- Mechanic                                                 REPORTS TO:                   Director of Buildings and Grounds                                                  LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR:        9-12 months (187-235 days)                 FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt   SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs mechanical repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of district vehicles. Maintains, repairs, and reconditions vehicular equipment and maintenance equipment (lawn mowers, blowers, backhoe, chain saws, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, etc.). Performs emergency road service to equipment outside the garage. Maintains records on work performed and equipment purchased. Adherence to the Mississippi Educator Code of Ethics/Standards of Conduct. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.                                                                                                                                                 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED Two (2) years experience in auto/truck maintenance and/or vocation. Ability to work with limited supervision.                                                                                                                                                 DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the care and maintenance of vehicles and grounds equipment. A minimum of two (2) years experience in general maintenance operations or related area.
