Job Description:

Mars Petcare- Meat Prep Operator- Columbus, OH

  • Pay: $26.87/hour + $1.50 Shift Premium
  • This site manufactures petfood: Pedigree, Cesar, Nutro, Iams & Whiskas

Shift Schedule:

Shift: 3rd (Nights)

Schedule: 2-2-3 pattern

Hours: 7:00pm-7:30am

(Flexible pending business needs)

Description of Role:

The Meat Prep Operator is responsible for supplying frozen meat to the factory using a forklift, ensuring timely delivery in accordance with production requirements and safety protocols.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirement:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient in computer software's including MS Office and Outlook

Physical Requirements:

  • Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
  • Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
  • Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or certification
  • Forklift experience
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience
  • RF Scanner/Blue Yonder/JDA experience

What will be my Responsibilities?

  • Operate and change equipment including the Haarslev, meat screws, grinders, grinder plates and bunkers.
  • Operate and drive forklifts to transfer meat
  • Process meat according to recipe requirements
  • Assist with system start-up and shutdown activities.
  • Perform cleaning, inspection, and lubrication (CIL) tasks and document any abnormalities while complying with quality and food safety standards
  • Complete additional tasks and ad hoc requests assigned.
