FT Meat Clerk (Sausage Maker)

Join Our Team as a Meat Clerk at Uncle G's Marketplace at our busy Massapequa store location! We're looking for a motivated and friendly Full-Time Meat Clerk to join our busy Meat Department-and yes, weekends are part of the fun as we serve our amazing customers! Don't worry if you're not a butcher-while butchering skills are a plus, they're definitely not required. What really matters is your passion for great customer service and helping shoppers find exactly what they need.
As a Meat Clerk, you'll assist customers with their meat selections, keep the department clean and organized by unpacking deliveries, and sanitize all equipment and surfaces to keep everything fresh and safe-all while following our company's high standards. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and grind meat according to recipes and production standards
- Mix meats, spices, and seasonings in correct proportions
- Operate sausage-making machinery such as grinders, mixers, stuffers, and smokers
- Stuff sausage casings and link sausages by hand or machine
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines
- Inspect products for quality, texture, weight, and appearance
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous experience working in a Meat Department, working with fresh meat is preferred
- Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred or willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while providing excellent customer service
- Able to work all shifts or shifts as provided with schedule

Working Conditions
- Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
- May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
- Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
- There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
