Position Overview
The MDM Lead and Support Senior Manager is responsible for the enterprise-wide strategy, governance, and execution of the Master Data Management (MDM) platform. This role leads multiple teams and/or team leaders across development, support, and data domains, ensuring alignment between business priorities, data strategy, and technology delivery. This position operates at both a strategic and operational level, driving multi-year platform direction, global data governance, and cross-functional initiatives while ensuring high-quality execution and platform stability.
This position will be based onsite at Vertiv''s Westerville, OH - HQ office location.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the enterprise MDM strategy and multi-year roadmap
- Align MDM capabilities with global business priorities across functions
- Establish and mature data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
- Drive enterprise initiatives to improve data quality, ownership, and accountability
- Influence leadership decisions regarding data and platform investments
Leadership & Organizational Management
- Lead multiple teams and/or managers across development, support, and data functions
- Design and implement a scalable operating model for global MDM delivery
- Drive talent strategy, succession planning, and leadership development
- Establish performance expectations and accountability frameworks across teams
- Build a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement
Platform Development & Delivery
- Own and govern a portfolio of initiatives across enhancements, transformation, and support
- Prioritize work across multiple stakeholders, domains, and regions
- Ensure consistent delivery through standardized development practices and governance
- Drive modernization of platform capabilities and architecture evolution
- Oversee end-to-end lifecycle delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives
Platform Operations & Performance
- Establish and monitor enterprise SLAs, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Lead global incident management strategy and escalation frameworks
- Drive improvements in platform stability, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Provide leadership visibility into risks, performance trends, and mitigation plans
- Ensure consistent support models across regions and teams
Technical Architecture & Quality
- Define enterprise architecture standards and integration patterns
- Ensure scalability, performance, and long-term platform sustainability
- Oversee adoption of CI/CD, testing frameworks, and quality standards across teams
- Lead initiatives to reduce technical debt and optimize platform performance
- Partner with enterprise architecture teams on broader system alignment
Data Management & Governance
- Own multi-domain MDM (customer, supplier, product, etc.) at enterprise scale
- Lead large-scale data transformation, migration, and integration initiatives
- Define data ownership, stewardship models, and governance processes
- Drive continuous improvement in data quality and governance maturity
- Ensure alignment with enterprise data and analytics strategies
Financial, Risk & Compliance
- Own budget planning, forecasting, and cost optimization for MDM
- Manage vendor relationships and commercial accountability
- Ensure compliance with SOX, security, and regulatory requirements
- Lead audit readiness, risk mitigation, and business continuity planning
- Establish governance for secure development and operations
Executive Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Director and VP-level stakeholders across the enterprise
- Lead governance forums, steering committees, and executive updates
- Translate business strategy into technical and data roadmaps
- Communicate complex topics in a clear, business-oriented manner
- Drive alignment across IT, Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field required
Advanced degree (MBA, MIS, or related field) or equivalent experience strongly preferred
Technical & Functional Expertise
Deep experience with MDM platforms (Informatica, SAP, or similar)
Advanced knowledge of data architecture, integration, and governance
Strong background in software development lifecycle and platform delivery
Experience leading large-scale data transformation and migration efforts
Leadership & Delivery
Proven experience leading multiple teams or managers
Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
Experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives
Strong track record of delivering results in global environments
Business & Stakeholder Skills
Ability to influence senior leadership and drive decision-making
Strong communication skills translating technical concepts to business audiences
Experience working across global teams and diverse stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing or global enterprise environments
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality tools
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and enterprise delivery models
