Five Rivers Analytics is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to provide advanced analytics, data engineering, and decision-support services in support of PEO Digital and the MCBOSS portfolio. This role supports the Marine Corps’ digital modernization and business systems transformation efforts by developing data-driven solutions that enhance readiness, optimize resources, and improve enterprise-wide insight. Responsibilities
+ Analyze large, complex data sets from Marine Corps and enterprise systems to identify trends, generate insights, and support data‑driven decision-making.
+ Develop predictive models, machine learning solutions, and statistical analyses to support mission‑critical business operations and modernization initiatives.
+ Build dashboards, visualizations, and automated reporting tools to communicate findings to leadership, stakeholders, and technical teams.
+ Partner with system engineers, software developers, analysts, and program leadership to translate mission needs into actionable data products.
+ Design, refine, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data integrity, availability, and accuracy across MCBOSS and PEO Digital systems.
+ Support process optimization and workflow modernization through data profiling, automation, and applied analytics.
+ Produce high‑quality technical documentation, data dictionaries, and briefing materials for program reviews and decision forums.
+ Ensure compliance with DoD data governance, cybersecurity, and data‑sharing policies.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
+ 2–5+ years of experience applying data analytics or data science in a technical or mission‑focused environment.
+ Proficiency with Python, R, SQL, and common data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciKit‑Learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch—optional).
+ Experience building dashboards or visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
+ Ability to translate ambiguous problem statements into clear analytical approaches.
+ Strong understanding of statistical methods, predictive modeling, and data engineering fundamentals.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience supporting DoD programs, ideally within USMC, PEO Digital, or NIWC Atlantic.
+ Familiarity with logistics, finance, manpower, readiness, or business operations data.
+ Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, DoD cloud offerings).
+ Knowledge of DevSecOps pipelines, Agile methodologies, or MLOps practices.
+ Experience working with enterprise systems such as MCBOSS, GCSS‑MC, or similar business systems.
Soft Skills:
+ Strong communication and presentation abilities.
+ Comfortable engaging with leadership, stakeholders, and technical teams.
+ Ability to work both independently and in cross‑functional teams.
+ Detail‑oriented, with a mission‑focused mindset and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, actionable insights.
