Math & Reading Intervention Teacher at Tower Rock Elementary School

Tower Rock, a beautiful elementary school situated in the bluffs outside of Sauk Prairie, is seeking a half-time reading and math interventionist. Through innovative curriculum, the school integrates outdoor learning, Spanish, and agriculture, all while meeting Common Core State Standards. This excellent facility, together with a dynamic staff, serves students from varying backgrounds. The ideal candidate has experience co-teaching, as well as extensive experience teaching reading. Primary responsibilities include teaching small groups of students, as well as collaborating with teachers about the multi-level system of supports, and ways to support students. Bilingual Spanish/English candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, however bilingualism is not a requirement of the job. Candidates must hold or be working to obtain appropriate licensure.

  • An understanding of how to implement CCSS through a student-centered, collaborative environment.
  • An inclusive philosophy that embraces 21st century skills with the ability to communicate with all stakeholders and a dedication to building lasting relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
  • An understanding of the developmental level of elementary age students.
  • Be able to analyze the classroom environment and find ways for all students to be successful in the least restrictive environment.
  • Ability to analyze student data to determine levels of supports needed based on various data points.
  • Experience with co-planning and co-teaching, for the purpose of differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Support all students through differentiated instruction.
  • Contribute to RtI time by meeting regularly with staff.
  • Trust builder with students, staff, parents, and the community.
  • Knowledge and experience using the Common Core and Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards.
  • Currently licensed by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
