Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Material Area Supervisor. This role is responsible for overseeing hourly material handling teams, coordinating inventory and material flow operations, and supporting production across a fast-paced assembly environment.

Job Duties

  • Lead hourly teams responsible for unloading, storing, moving, and delivering materials to production areas
  • Coordinate daily material flow activities across assigned areas such as shipping, press, assembly, yard, or dock operations
  • Monitor safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale metrics to support production goals
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, material records, and production support documentation
  • Apply World Class Manufacturing tools and processes to improve material flow and reduce operational costs
  • Develop team leaders and hourly employees to support consistent execution of daily work
  • Partner with management and union-represented employees to support operational alignment
  • Support weekend overtime and multi-shift manufacturing operations as needed

Skills & Experience

Required

  • 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, material flow, inventory control, or production operations
  • Experience supporting hourly teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Exposure to inventory management, inbound/outbound material flow, or production material support
  • Understanding of World Class Manufacturing principles or similar continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to work onsite and support all three shifts, including weekend overtime
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing, stamping, assembly, logistics, or warehouse operations
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with shipping dock, press line, yard, sub-assembly, or finished goods logistics operations
  • Experience tracking operational metrics related to safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale
