Work Schedule:   Monday thru Friday 7:00 am- 3:30 pm. Weekends and afternoons as needed.
 
 
POSITION SUMMARY  
          The Material Supervisor is responsible for managing warehouse materials operations that support shipyard production, including inventory control, material storage, kitting, issuing materials to work orders, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate records. This role works closely with Planning, Purchasing, Receiving, and Production to ensure materials are available when needed to support schedules and vessel projects.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Receive internal material requests and prepare kits based on production work orders.
  • Pull, stage, package, and issue materials to production teams.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP or inventory systems.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Organize warehouse locations for efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify Purchasing of shortages or reorder needs.
  • Coordinate with Receiving to properly identify and store incoming materials.
  • Ensure traceability of materials, part numbers, heat lots, certifications, or controlled items as required.
  • Support material returns, surplus handling, and disposition of obsolete stock.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse areas.
  • Operate forklifts or material handling equipment safely (if certified).
  • Assist with year-end physical inventories and audits.

EXPERIENCE 
  • 3+ years experience in warehouse, materials, inventory, or shipyard logistics environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, barcoding, spreadsheets, or inventory software.
  • Ability to read work orders, pick lists, BOMs, and material requests.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of marine, industrial, or shipyard materials preferred.
