Job Description


Independently performs functions at project operating locations associated with all aspects offieldmaterial management: this ranges from managing bulk consumable orders to project specific specialty items / material reconciliation and order entry / receipt, storage, delivery and issuance of materials. Works with suppliers, procurement staff, clients, managers, craft superintendents of all disciplines, and other departments to resolve problems in a timely manner and be proactive to help keep project material issues to a minimum. Reports directly to the Project Materials Manager.

Responsibilities


+ Provides project material status, tracking reports and systems to support project needs and schedules.

+ Involved in all aspects offieldmaterial management starting with entry of data into the material system database, coordinating with procurement department for material orders, issues and status, receiving material both physically and electronically in the database, staging, issuing and surplusing material.

+ Helps to identify and resolve material problems in a timely manner to avoid construction schedule delays and cost impact.

+ Performs responsibilities in accordance with established policies, plans and procedures to effectively coordinate on-site efforts in support of the Material Supervisor and client project requirements.

+ Assists in the resolution of defective material issues, shipment discrepancies and non-conformance with buyers and suppliers.

+ Notifies interested parties of damage in transit and arranges for damage inspections required or implied by the terms of shipment and initiates and follows freight claims through to satisfactory resolution.

+ Active involvement in materials’ management improvement ideas.

+ Responds to requests from Material Supervisor, procurement staff, project management, construction contractors and clients.

+ Traces shipments for delivery status.

+ Assists accounts payable personnel by providing correct and timely material receiving reports and other, related information required to process and pay invoices.

+ This position has supervisory responsibilities in oversight of the Warehouse personnel.

+ Ability to work in a high pressure environment with changing priorities, while tracking open items needing to be worked.

+ Assisting warehouse personnel in prioritizing work and confirming level of detail is adequate.

+ Maintaining, monitoring and confirming accurate inventory count and locations for both inside and outside storage on a continuous basis.

+ Load out oversight and involvement for all types of loads.

+ Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.


Qualifications


+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Materials Coordinator experience will be considered.

+ Minimum three (3) years progressive material supervisory experience required. Experience must include shipping/receiving/warehousing all disciplines of construction materials.

+ Advanced skillset with Microsoft Excel. Candidates will be required to complete a skills evaluation test.

+ Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.

+ Equipment experience preferred.

+ Willingness to work outside required.
