Under the general supervision of the Environmental Sustainability Director, this term-limited position supports the development and implementation of the County's Materials Management Plan. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with County staff, consultants, advisory committees, and external partners to ensure project objectives and timelines are met. The position supports public engagement efforts, compliance with state regulations, data coordination, consultant deliverables, and grant administration. This role is grant-funded and is currently anticipated to begin in 2026, with potential extensions depending on continued funding availability.

Employment Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability, Urban or Regional Planning, Public Administration or a related field with One (1) year of experience in solid waste planning, environmental policy, or a related area in a government, non-profit, or consulting setting Experience with public engagement or regional planning is desirable.
OR
A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability, Urban or Regional Planning, Public Administration or a related field with three (3) year of experience in solid waste planning, environmental policy, or a related area in a government, non-profit, or consulting setting Experience with public engagement or regional planning is desirable.
Other Requirements:
Demonstrates effective communication skills by engaging, interacting and working with all individuals to ensure clarity and understanding in all interactions.

The employee must be able to attend public meetings and workshops, perform research and analysis, and travel to various County locations and external partner sites.
