1st Shift – Materials Handler
Pro Resources has partnered with a leading manufacturer of conveyor belts serving various industries and is seeking a skilled materials handler to join their team.
Hours: 8a- 4:30pm M-F
Pay: $16-18/hr Depending on experience
Position Overview:
The Materials Handler will be responsible for the movement of parts throughout the building, beginning by verifying the quality of incoming materials and ensuring that parts are moved to the correct locations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to maintain an efficient material management process.
Essential Job Functions:
- Direct the flow of inbound materials to the appropriate storage locations or departments.
- Ensure that parts are properly logged, organized, and tracked through the building.
- Inspect incoming materials for quality, consistency, and compliance with specifications.
- Ensure materials are stored in designated areas and organized for easy access.
- Maintain accurate records of material locations to ensure efficient retrieval.
- Work closely with purchasing, production, and other departments to ensure materials are available as needed, avoiding production delays or shortages.
- Follow all safety, regulatory, and company-specific procedures to ensure the safe handling, storage, and movement of materials.
- Assist in regular physical inventory counts and stock audits. Identify and report any variances between actual stock levels and recorded inventory.
- Stockroom job picking - pulling parts from the stockroom and kitting them in an organized fashion for systems we will assemble
- Receiving - open packages that we receive, confirming quantity and quality are accurate - then disposing of the boxes and packaging material
- Paint check in - matching painted steel parts that we receive in with a drawing, confirming quantity and quality are accurate, and organizing parts by the job to which they belong
- Miscellaneous tasks - product running, general housekeeping, etc.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some experience or certification in materials management or logistics preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect quality issues.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of safety and material handling best practices is a plus.
Physical Requirements of position:
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance and work overhead.
- Ability to regularly lift 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
