Job Description

The Materials Delivery Worker supports daily operations by receiving, unloading, and organizing equipment, supplies, and materials to designated locations. This role helps ensure efficient workflow by maintaining inventory, coordinating deliveries, and supporting team members with logistical needs. This position contributes to the successful operation of the facility through reliable service and attention to detail.

This position will support daily food service operations at the Alaska Airlines Lounge located inside the Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, AK. Full-time, part-time and on-call positions available.

Responsibilities

  • Safely unload materials, supplies, equipment and freight to designated locations throughout the facility.

  • Pick up and distribute a variety of items, including but not limited to, frozen and dry foods, drinks, glassware, chemicals, and other materials according to operational priorities.

  • Receive, sort and organize incoming materials.

  • Maintain delivery schedules and coordinate transportation activities to support daily operations.

  • Reports accidents and injuries promptly.

  • Follows all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.

  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.

  • Attends designated training programs (classroom and virtual).

  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • One (1) year of relevant work experience

  • The ability to work rotating shifts and varying schedules including holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.

  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

  • Ability to pass SIDA Badge test, which includes an assessment of knowledge related to airport security protocols, access control procedures, and safety regulations in secure and restricted areas.

  • Ability to obtain an Alaska AOA Badge. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Successfully pass an FBI fingerprint-based background check.

  • Complete and pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA).

  • Have no outstanding warrants or be able to provide documentation of their resolution.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather:Primarily indoors in environmentally controlled facilities, with frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions while loading, unloading and transporting materials between buildings.

Noise level: Moderate to Loud.

Pace of work environment: Medium to Fast.

Customer Interaction: Moderate

Description of environment: Alaska Airlines Lounge. This is an airport kitchen setting.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently to constantly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
