The Materials Clerk supports shipping and receiving operations by ensuring timely, accurate movement of materials and finished goods throughout the facility. This role works closely with the Truck Driver, Shipping Coordinator, and area supervisors to verify incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain accurate records, and uphold quality and productivity standards. The Materials Clerk performs material handling, documentation, and staging activities while maintaining safety, organization, and efficient product flow within the plant.
Perform shipping and receiving activities in accordance with company procedures and quality standards
Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently using forklifts or other material handling equipment
Weigh tubs and materials using forklift scales and document weights accurately
Ensure proper delivery of received materials and finished goods to designated areas within the plant
Stage and prepare products for shipment to customers
Move inventory to proper storage or staging locations to maintain organization and product flow
Operate forklifts, shrink wrapping equipment, and scanning devices as trained
Verify shipment accuracy by matching paperwork to staged product prior to shipment
Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
Control flow of paperwork between truck drivers and shipping coordination staff
Maintain organization of pallet inventory and finished goods staging areas
Follow all safety, environmental, quality, Lean principles, standards, and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.
1–2 years of warehouse, shipping, or material handling experience preferred
Forklift certification or willingness to become certified
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Strong attention to detail and shipment accuracy
Basic understanding of inventory flow and warehouse organization
Safe and efficient operation of forklifts and material handling equipment
Ability to follow process standards and work instructions
Effective communication and teamwork skills

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
