Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager in the Clearinghouse for Specialized Media and Technology Media Warehouse, and the Administrator for the Instructional Materials and Access Unit within the Curriculum Frameworks and Instructional Resources Division, the Material & Stores Specialist will be responsible for performing duties as follows:

  • Receive materials from suppliers and verification of items received. Items received must match the packing slip provided with missing items explained; process and ship out product orders.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks and other carriers; use forklift, hand truck, or non-powered equipment to transport materials to specified areas; stock and restock shelves, bins, and other storage facilities.
  • Assist other Warehouse staff with maintenance duties, including cleaning floors, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Assist Warehouse Manager in maintaining computerized warehouse inventory records; respond to inquiries in the Warehouse Manager's absence; prepare UPS reports and other shipping records.

Working Conditions

IN OFFICE POSITION

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and requires the incumbent to report to the office five days a week. This position is not eligible for telework.

Special Requirements

Requires heavy lifting and working in a warehouse environment. A valid California drivers license is necessary for this position.
