Job Title:                                                            Material Handler

Job Location

Yorba Linda, CA Pay DOE $20-22 an hour mon-fri 7am-4pm

Under limited supervision, the Material Handler performs routine production and material handling activities. This role supports efficient workflow, ensures proper handling and documentation of materials, and collaborates with other departments to maintain smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Workflow & Material Handling

  • Transfer, allocate, and store raw materials, supplies, and finished products to support production requirements and maintain workflow
  • Stage and prepare materials and equipment as required for production
  • Assist production with line clear-out procedures and ensure finished products and unused materials are properly packaged, labeled, and returned to the warehouse
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, follies, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment
  • Assist with inventory counts and audits to support inventory accuracy
  • Monitor shelf-life controlled materials and remove expired materials in accordance with company procedures

Documentation and Verification

    • Maintain accurate records of lot numbers, purchases orders, and other required material documentation
    • Label and tag materials with appropriate information before staging, use, or storage
    • Verify products are properly sealed, labeled, and prepared before transfer to the warehouse

    Coordination & Communication

    • Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Purchasing departments to support material availability and productions schedules
    • Verify workstation readiness and ensure required materials, tools, and equipment are available and organized
    • Report inventory discrepancies, material shortages, or damaged materials to management in a timely manner

     Shipping & Receiving Support

    • Assist with receiving incoming materials and verifying quantities against packing slips and purchase orders
    • Inspect incoming shipments for damage and report discrepancies to management
    • Prepare, package, and label outbound shipments in accordance with company procedures
    • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation
    • Ensure materials are properly identified, stored, and transferred to designated locations
    • Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, and Quality departments regarding material receipts and shipment requirements

     Safety & Compliance

    • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable handling requirements
    • Follow FOD prevention practices and inspect materials for contamination before use or storage
    • Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or quality concerns to supervisors immediately
    • Participate in required safety and operational training

    Housekeeping & Organization

    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, inventory locations, and staging areas
    • Maintain organized inventory, staffing, and storage areas in accordance with 5S practices
    • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, accounted for, and in safe working condition

     Attendance & Professional Conduct

    • Maintain regular attendance and promptly notify supervisors of any absences or lateness
    • Communicate production, inventory, or material-related issues in a professional and timely manner

    Additional Duties

    • Perform other related duties as assigned to support business and production needs

    Qualifications

    • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in production or material handling
    • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
    • Familiarity with production machinery, equipment, and processes
    • Ability to follow work order instructions and safety protocols
    • Training in material handling, safety, and lot documentation is required
    • Knowledge of FOD prevention practices and 5S lean methodologies within a warehouse and production environment
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills
    • Knowledge of inventory control, material handling, and warehouse practices preferred
