Automotive Engine Remanufacturing - Material Handler - Shipping
No Experience Required
Starting Pay: $18.50/hour and up to $20.00/hour potential (with earned MONTHLY bonuses)
Job Summary
Component Packaging
Will be required to package cylinder heads for shipments.
Perform visual inspections on all components.
Material Handling
All finished goods will be scanned into the inventory system, with cycle counts performed weekly.
Pull product for direct ship orders, and deliver to staging area, as needed to assist the dispatcher.
Truck Loading
Pulling and staging distribution center replenishment stock orders for verification.
Pulling and staging private label orders for verification.
Verify shipping labels are correct, proper packaging, trailer condition, stock numbers and serial numbers on unit labels and Id tags.
Complete and deliver necessary paperwork.
Verify total amount of units to be shipped and load trailer.
Unloads truck shipments of finished good engines, and transmissions, checking in loads by part and serial numbers.
These positions may perform other duties as assigned to fill in for others in the department or other departments as needed or requested. May train or instruct fellow workers regarding duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Not responsible for supervising employees.
Education & Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to read and write. This is verified through the employment process.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Must become qualified through PROFormance's forklift testing program.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Basic computer skills
- Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.
- Problems encountered are simple, repetitive and generally solved by clear directions and procedures.
- Follows standard procedures.
- Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager
- Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Requires continuous physical effort; short work cycles; repetitive motion work.
- Component Packager: Standing 70%, walking 30%. Lifts, pushes, pulls an average of 70 lbs, occasionally, 40 lbs Frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
- Shipping Inventory Control Clerk: Standing 90%, walking 10%. Lifts, pushes, pulls an average of 20 lb. Occasionally.
