Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.0 | Full Time | Day and Swing Shifts
Due to the nature of the work, this position does require the flexibility to work variable hours and variable days - to include day, evening, weekend and holidays hours.
Salary Range: $19.90 and up, depending on experience
Shift Differentials:
- $1.16 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- $2.00 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
- $0.99 extra for working weekends
Position Summary
The Material Handler receives, stores, and issues medical supplies from warehouse inventories per Bulk, Par, Stock and Non-Stock Distribution; Trauma Cart replenishment/maintenance; and provides extensive customer service.
Other responsibilities may include sorting U.S. and interoffice mail within the appropriate department slots; receiving, storing, and issuing supplies from inventories; maintaining adequate inventories to meet customer needs; utilizing non-stock processes and implementing off-campus deliveries; performing inventory control, identifying variances and back orders; restocking supplies quickly and accurately; rotating inventories while noting expiration dates and ensuring integrity of supplies. The Material Handler also proactively maintains a clean, orderly and safe work environment ensuring operations within DNV and OSHA guidelines; performs routine inventory cycle counts of warehouse stock supplies; and assists with special projects as needed. Must have competent communication skills in supporting the conveyance of supply issues to Purchasers, Supervisor or Inventory Coordinator.
Position Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required.
Required Experience/Abilities
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills to meet the demands of internal and external medical supply needs.
- Detail oriented with the ability to quickly assess situations and apply critical thinking skills in a high stress level environment.
- Ability to rapidly and accurately match product numbers and descriptions to products for proper inventory management and record keeping.
- Ability to efficiently organize priorities while maintaining good customer relations during continual interactions with Asante employees and/or vendor delivery personnel.
- Desire and ability to work as part of a team with a clear understanding of teambuilding principles.
- The capacity for professional interactions within diverse situations daily and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Experience
- Working in a hospital/medical environment to include an understanding of product application of medical/surgical supplies and patient care related equipment.
- Inventory management for various department functions.
- Computer competency and application of electronic inventory control systems
- Ability to utilize warehouse equipment i.e. electric pallet jack, hand truck, pallet jack, dock lift.
Licensure/Certifications
- Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past 10 years and proof of insurance is required.
