Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 12 months
  • Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM 2:30 PM (noted as 6:00 AM 3:30 PM by manager; expectation remains early day shift). Some limited flexibility for special circumstances, not guaranteed. Overtime is voluntary only, typically up to 1 hour per day when offered. Weekend work is voluntary only, on an as-needed basis and not mandatory.
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a warehouse material handler role supporting manufacturing operations in a medical device manufacturing environment with FDA-regulated SOPs and periodic audits. The role focuses on inbound receiving, inventory management, and material delivery to production, with limited to no outbound shipping responsibilities. Materials handled are temperature sensitive, and the facility operates multiple temperature zones including refrigerated, frozen, and deep-freeze areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pull, stage, verify, and compare outgoing inventory against system-generated pick lists, customer sales orders, and purchase orders; perform all related computer transactions, including product returns.
  • Pre-stage and accurately transfer raw materials, WIP, and other production materials into, within, and out of storage areas to support production and internal customers.
  • Perform daily cycle counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and maintain accurate quality and inventory records.
  • Receive all incoming materials and packages (including FedEx and UPS) in a timely and accurate manner and deliver them throughout the facility as required.
  • Collaborate and communicate professionally with Planning, Production, Shipping, Receiving, Quality, and other departments to support smooth business operations.
  • Lifting/moving and carrying products weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively, including manual and motorized pallet jacks, forklifts, and electric carts.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage and work areas in compliance with all safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Ability and willingness to work in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment
  • Comfort working across multiple temperature-controlled settings
  • Willingness to train on and operate multiple types of powered industrial equipment
  • No fear of heights some PIT equipment requires harnessing and elevation to high racking
  • Ability to follow SOPs precisely and work under audit conditions
  • Basic computer literacy for daily operations (ERP interaction, scanning, communication tools)

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience handling temperature-sensitive materials
  • Experience in refrigerated, frozen, or deep-freeze warehouse environments
  • Prior use of Oracle ERP system
  • Experience operating multiple PIT types (stand-up forklifts, riders, pickers, swing reach, etc.)
  • Experience in manufacturing-support warehouses (medical device, diagnostics preferred)
  • Experience working in multi-shift facilities
  • Familiarity with mobile scanning devices
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams

Required Experience

  • No minimum years of experience required; green candidates are considered if they demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, coachability, and a professional demeanor.
  • Direct medical device or diagnostics industry experience is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
  • Positive resume signals include: manufacturing warehouse experience (especially medical device or diagnostics), exposure to temperature-controlled material handling, PIT operation experience (any type), inventory management and inbound receiving experience, ERP usage (Oracle preferred but not required), evidence of SOP-driven or regulated environments, and stable work history with reasonable explanations for short-term roles.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Warehouse environment within a medical device manufacturing facility subject to FDA-regulated SOPs and periodic audits
  • Work performed across multiple temperature zones including refrigerated, frozen, and deep-freeze areas
  • Materials handled are temperature sensitive
  • Lifting/moving and carrying products weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Operation of powered industrial equipment (PIT), including forklifts, stand-up riders, pickers, and swing reach equipment; some equipment requires harnessing and elevation to high racking
  • PPE is mandatory and fully provided on site; composite or steel toe shoes are required (vouchers provided)
  • Additional PPE provided as needed: gloves, sleeves, and eyewear for dry ice and cold handling
  • Interview requirement: Closed-toe shoes are required candidates wearing open-toe shoes will not be allowed into the facility

Important Notes

  • Interview Process: One in-person onsite interview preferred (approximately 30 minutes at location); no phone screen required prior to onsite. The onsite interview allows candidates to see the equipment and environment; the process is intentionally two-way to ensure candidate comfort with role expectations.
  • Extension: There is a likelihood of extension past the initial duration depending on employee retention; if the temporary employee is performing well, the client would like to extend them.
  • Conversion to Full-Time: There is a possibility the worker could be transitioned to a full-time employee; conversion is possible only if a non-temporary employee vacates the position.
  • PIT Equipment: PIT equipment use is not required to be hired, but new employees will go through client PIT training regardless of prior skill level and will be expected to use the equipment.
  • Overtime: Currently up to 1 hour of overtime per day is offered to all employees on a voluntary basis; this may change in the future.
