POSITION SUMMARY: The Warehouse/Forklift Operator is responsible for all aspects of loading and unloading of raw materials and finished product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Safely operate a forklift. • Loading and Unloading Material (53’ vans, rail cars and containers including the (fiber (as of 01/06/2020)) from a dock and outdoor yard during all seasons and weather conditions. Installs padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using forklifts. • Read and understand what product(s) to select, how to load and unload trucks based off pick documents and bills of landing • Cycle count inventory weekly or as required • Follows the Logistics Standard Operating Procedures Support and Maintain Warehouse stock location system and code dates to ensure proper inventory turns and adherence to FIFO principles. • Provides high level Service to Customers and Transportation providers • Ability to safely lift, carry and stack up to 50lbs. • Responsible for performing SMATs and/or TFs and be an active participant in all other facility audit, manufacturing and efficiency programs. This includes WCM involvement in projects and/or meetings, as required. Incumbents are responsible for ensuring 5S standards are met and maintained. Incumbent is required to clean, paint, etc. to maintain 5S standards. • Show initiative through continuous improvement in safety, quality and efficiency of the department by communicationEQUIPMENT OPERATED: • Mobile Equipment • Scanners, Computers, Printers, Phones, Cameras, Power Tools, Safety Equipment JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Qualifications/Skills/Experience • Must pass forklift certification test and keep certification in good standings • Mobile Warehouse Management Experience preferred / Computer Literacy • Good oral communication skills • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment • Excellent Attendance PracticesPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer, accepting of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, positive demeanor, and model change management for the business. Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs. May require long periods of sitting, walking, and standing, working on a computer or engaging in telephone conversation. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve fiberglass, glycerin, latex and formaldehyde. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas. SAFETY & HEALTH: Follow the CertainTeed Health and Safety Rules, ensure safe operating conditions within Shipping/Warehouse and notify co-workers and supervisors of hazardous acts and conditions. Proper use of PPE at all times. Maintain clean and safe working environment in line with the 5S philosophy. Facilitate and/or participate in safety training and safety committee meetings. QUALITY ASSURANCE & PROCESS CONTROL: Support a zero-defect system through process control, to minimize non-quality related costs and to improve customer satisfaction. This requires defect-free work and understanding of the requirements of the company’s quality system as it pertains to job duties and responsibilities. Must be able to check work to ensure conformance to instructions, specifications and quality standards are met. Identify and segregate non-conforming product. Identify the need for and assist in initiating and implementing corrective and preventative actions when appropriate.
