Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for managing inventory and supporting receiving, stockroom, and shipping operations in a manufacturing environment. This role executes cycle counts, issues and transfers materials, performs ERP transactions, and ensures the accurate movement of materials and finished goods. The Material Handler provides support to both internal and external customers while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Support receiving, stockroom, and shipping processes.
- Accurately pull materials from inventory and issue materials to production.
- Receive materials from vendors and process transactions within the ERP system.
- Process receipt of repair units and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Accurately ship finished goods to customers and in-process materials to external vendors.
- Verify counts, packaging methods, serial numbers, documentation, shipping methods, and destinations.
- Generate and verify shipping documentation and invoicing through ERP and document management systems.
- Prepare and process hazardous material shipments in accordance with applicable regulations and labeling requirements.
- Execute cycle counts, material transfers, and other inventory transactions to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide excellent service and support to internal and external customers.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, material handling, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or a related field preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems and inventory management systems preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook, preferred.
- Familiarity with Oracle, warehouse management systems (WMS), freight databases, and shipping systems preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow product specifications, drawings, and work orders in English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory and shipping records.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, and lift or move up to 40 pounds.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must meet applicable requirements for positions subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Position may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
