Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two to five years of warehouse experience
  • At least one year of leadership or lead experience preferred
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and general warehouse operations
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot, cold, or refrigerated environments when applicable
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory-management systems preferred
  • Experience with KPI tracking, productivity reporting, and labor planning preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus

Job Duties

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse associates
  • Assign work based on staffing levels and operational priorities
  • Monitor warehouse productivity, quality, and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures
  • Train and mentor new employees on warehouse processes, equipment, and safety expectations
  • Conduct daily shift huddles
  • Communicate production goals and operational updates
  • Assist with receiving, shipping, picking, packing, replenishment, and inventory control
  • Perform routine inventory and cycle counts
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational issues
  • Address employee concerns and communicate them to management when appropriate
  • Ensure shipments, receipts, and inventory transactions are documented accurately
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse using 5S practices
  • Collaborate with supervisors and management to improve warehouse processes
  • Help the team meet customer-service expectations
  • Assist with employee coaching, attendance tracking, and performance feedback
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other material-handling equipment as required

What You Will Do

As a Material Handler you will receive, move, stage, load, unload, organize, and transport materials throughout warehouse or manufacturing operations. You will verify inventory, maintain accurate product locations, prepare materials for production or shipment, assist with inventory control, and help ensure safe, efficient movement of products while following established workplace procedures.

The Material Handler plays an important role in warehouse and manufacturing environments by ensuring materials move safely and efficiently throughout daily operations. This position requires organization, physical stamina, and attention to detail.

Successful Material Handler candidates understand material flow, inventory procedures, workplace safety, and warehouse organization while supporting production schedules and customer fulfillment. Consistent performance contributes directly to operational efficiency.
