About the Role

A well-established manufacturing company in Greenwich, NY is hiring a 3rd Shift Operations Team Leader to lead overnight production operations.

This is a true leadership role. The company is looking for someone who can lead people, keep employees focused, hold the team accountable, and make sure the overnight shift runs safely and efficiently.

The overnight shift is already set up before this person arrives. First shift handles most of the planning, scheduling, and changeovers. This role is focused on leading the team, keeping production moving, handling issues as they come up, completing paperwork, and providing clear shift updates to leadership.

Schedule

This position runs Sunday night through Friday morning.

The shift begins at 10:30 PM on Sunday night for mill start-up. The regular shift is 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with some additional time expected for start-up, shift turnover, and paperwork.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have experience leading people in a manufacturing, production, paper mill, packaging, printing, or similar industrial environment.

The strongest candidates will be able to:

Lead an overnight crew with limited supervision
Keep employees accountable and on task
Coach team members when needed
Communicate clearly with employees and management
Keep production running safely and efficiently
Handle issues calmly and professionally
Complete paperwork and shift updates accurately
Bring discipline, structure, and consistency to the shift

This role is best suited for someone who has been a Team Lead, Shift Lead, Production Supervisor, Operations Lead, or Manufacturing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the overnight production team.

Keep production running safely, efficiently, and according to expectations.

Monitor production, downtime, quality, safety, and overall shift performance.

Provide direction, coaching, and accountability to employees.

Troubleshoot production or mechanical issues as needed.

Work with machine operators to track production and downtime.

Complete shift paperwork, production entries, and required documentation.

Communicate shift updates, employee concerns, production issues, and equipment needs to leadership.

Support attendance tracking, timekeeping, and employee relations as needed.

Maintain housekeeping standards and a safe work environment.

Operate equipment as needed to support the team.

Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and leadership direction.

Qualifications

Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.

Strong communication and people skills.

Ability to lead employees, coach performance, and hold a team accountable.

Comfortable working 3rd shift Sunday night through Friday morning.

Ability to work independently overnight with limited supervision.

Strong safety mindset.

Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Ability to complete reports, production records, and shift documentation accurately.

Mechanical troubleshooting ability is a plus.

Forklift, OSHA, electrical, paper mill, or converting experience is a plus.
