STS Technical Services is hiring a Material Handler (CDL) in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This full-time, 1st shift role supports Trace-A-Matic by keeping shop materials moving safely, accurately and efficiently through machining, inspection, shipping and storage operations.

This position is ideal for a dependable material handling professional with forklift experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to support machinists by helping keep production moving.

Position Overview

The Material Handler supports smooth and organized material flow throughout the shop. This role moves parts, manages documentation, supports machine fluid maintenance, assists with chip removal and helps ensure work areas remain clean, safe and production-ready.

Candidates must have forklift certification. A CDL is preferred, or candidates must be willing to obtain one.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Move parts safely and efficiently to machines, shipping, inspection or storage with proper documentation
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and move tickets
  • Transfer data to required paperwork with accuracy
  • Pull hoppers from machines and empty them into the correct chip containers based on material grade
  • Maintain machines with proper fluid levels
  • Assist Maintenance with preventive maintenance activities
  • Assist with moving, disassembling and assembling machines as needed
  • Ensure fixtures and tooling are stocked and stored in the proper locations
  • Keep oil and coolant areas clean and organized
  • Return unused tooling to the tool crib
  • Remove used inserts from work benches and place them in the recycle bin
  • Clean floors and parking lot areas to reduce chips in main areas
  • Clean and wipe down machines that are not running
  • Remove garbage and unusable wood skids
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience
  • Current fork truck certification required
  • Certified forklift license required
  • CDL preferred or willingness to obtain CDL
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to ensure proper product location and documentation accuracy
  • Responsible, dependable and safety-focused work style

Work Environment

This role works in a precision manufacturing environment supporting material movement, machining operations, maintenance support, shop organization and general production flow. The position requires safe operation around machines, forklifts, cranes, tooling, coolant, chips and manufacturing equipment.
