Looking to fill 2nd Shift - must be flexible - start time varies 2:30pm-11pm or 3:30pm to 12:00am. Job Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate reception, storage management, and issuing of all finished goods and raw materials. Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive) - Load, unload, move, count / pick, stack and stage product and materials using a sit down or stand-up forklift as required.
- Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
- Inspect any assigned equipment on a daily basis. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following work methods and OSHA standards.
- Drives electric powered devices such as forklift, elevating platforms to lift or stack products or materials.
- Assist in maintaining / promoting the safety of the warehouse. Report issues and problems to management. Will support and abide by the company’s safety program and all safety initiatives, policies and procedures.
- Accurately pull and prepare materials using the first in first out (FIFO) methodology for production orders.
- Responsible for filling out all documentation correctly and clearly.
- Inspect all materials during picking, shipping and receiving to ensure product number accuracy and material is free of damage.
- Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training, along with company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP’s).
- Following set company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines at all times.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Education, Training: - High School Diploma or GED, preferred
- 1-3 year(s) of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Experience Required: - Excellent verbal communication skills; must work effectively with others.
- Work well with others
- Ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.
- Knowledge of warehouse and lift trucks experience preferred.
- Excellent attendance and dependability.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends on short notice
Language, Computer and Numeracy: - ERP knowledge preferred
- Proficient personal computer skills (MS office applications – Word, Office, Excel)
- Working knowledge of computers and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and write in the English language
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, unit of measure conversions
Pay Range : $20-$21/ Hour
Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
