    Position Summary

    The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and distribution of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility. This position primarily operates forklifts and multi-directional lifts to transport long-length and oversized materials, maintain warehouse and production inventory locations, and support manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are available where and when needed.

    Primary Duties

    • Safely operate forklifts, multi-directional lifts, and other powered industrial equipment in accordance with company policies and safety procedures.
    • Transport raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods between warehouse locations and production departments.
    • Stock and replenish warehouse racks, production storage areas, and designated inventory locations.
    • Supply production departments with required materials in a timely manner to support manufacturing workloads.
    • Assist with unloading inbound trucks and moving materials to designated staging or storage locations.
    • Load outbound shipments, scrap materials, and other materials as assigned.
    • Assist with projects requiring specialized material handling equipment.
    • Empty compactors, scrap hoppers, and coordinate scrap material pickups as required while maintaining accurate data entry.
    • Maintain clean, organize, and safe warehouse areas including storage and production areas.
    • Perform routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
    • Support inventory accuracy by placing materials in designated locations and reporting discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
    • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Can read, speak, and write in English
    • Has a current license or be willing to obtain a forklift license within 30 days of hire.
    • Embodies the 80/20 attitude in all aspects of the job.
    • Can work by themselves with a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks.
    • Able to stand, twist, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and lift 40 lbs. on a continuous basis for an 10-hour workday.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1 or more years of experience with loading a truck, handling materials, and handling wire/plastic scrap
    • 1 or more years of experience with emptying a compactor in a production/manufacturing environment.
