Material Handler
Location: Sugar Land, TX
Pay: $18/hour
Shift: 1st Shift (MondayFriday)
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
About the Role: A manufacturing company in Sugar Land is seeking a dependable Material Handler to receive, inspect, and stage materials for production. This role supports day-to-day inventory accuracy and warehouse operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and stage incoming materials promptly
- Pull, issue, and tag parts for production based on the daily schedule
- Stage sales orders and spare parts according to the shipping schedule
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products
- Move materials between loading docks, storage areas, and production areas
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Identify, label, and record material locations to maintain inventory accuracy
- Perform and report cycle counts
- Process inventory transactions in the warehouse management system
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 15 years of warehouse or inventory control experience
- Forklift certification preferred
- Able to use a tape measure and perform basic math
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using computers and warehouse management software
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Able to stand/walk for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs independently
- Willing to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekends
