Job Details

We have an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler in Irwin, Pennsylvania. In this position, you will primarily be responsible for providing value stream support in the Market and Receiving departments. This is the 1st shift position at a starting rate of $18 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Pull parts for Assembly work orders by printing labels and pulling parts from Market shelves using barcodes. • Pull parts for made-from work orders for shop or subcontractors. • Manage stock control, including part replenishment, storage, and audits. • Communicate shortages or quality issues to supervisors. • Deliver kits by following standardized routes to ensure consistent lean workflow from Market to Assembly. • Process work orders and allocate finished products before dropping off in shipping. • Regularly visit work cells to refill components, Kanban containers, and consumables to prevent line stoppages. • Manage Kanban by moving Kanban cards or containers to signal retrieve and deliver necessary inventory. • Unload trucks with incoming parts and raw materials. • Verify parts to supplier packing list and complete computer transactions. • Wrap and process work orders for anodizing and other subcontractors. • Remove empty bins, cardboard, and trash from work areas to keep them tidy and efficient. • Operate equipment according to industrial safety regulations. • Performing general warehouse duties as necessary. • Utilize basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as required. • Ensure proper handling, use, and disposal of chemical substances and materials in the waste stream where applicable. • Promote a safe work environment by following all safety procedures, including policies and work practices. • Support continuous improvement initiatives, such as quality, safety improvement, and HPT participation. • Follow standard work, Day by Hour TIB, and other operational metrics.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of hand tools. • Attention to detail. • Proficient in basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and basic division. • Ability to effectively read, interpret, and follow instructions. • Ability to work effectively as a part of a team. • Flexibility and cooperation in performing other duties as assigned. • Willingness to work in various cells. • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel to and from the primary work location. • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, up to 4 hours at a time. • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
